Popular how electric and hybrid cars will be in 10 years? Depends on who you ask.

According to a new report by J.D. Power and Associates automotive industry analysis firm, the potential sale of electric and hybrid vehicles is "over-hyped" and "more hope the reality."Globally, electric and hybrid vehicles will be little more than 7% of all sales of vehicles by 2020, estimates of the company.

This year, only 2.2 percent of more than 44 million vehicles should be sold worldwide will use some sort of battery propulsion system.

Other industry forecasts are much more optimistes.Un report 2009 by Boston Consulting Group, for example, believes that electric passenger cars and hybrids as well as those powered by compressed natural gas, could constitute some 28% of the market.Read more here.
